Cubs Fan Convention on January 18

17 Jan

I bought Chicago Cubs 2013 Season Tickets from TicketVistas for one fact only. This team doesn’t know the meaning of the word quit, and in spite of their recent failures give each game their 100%. The current squad is more of a highly trained battle squad instead of a baseball team that gives tough opponents a run for their money and champion players think twice before facing blazing fast Cubs Pitchers.

The Chicago Cubs wouldn’t be where they are right now without their fans and they are repaying that debt by holding a convention where fans can meet their favorite players and coaching staff and interact with them.

Both current and former Cubs players along with the coaching staff and Minor Leaguers will be present at the 28th Cubs Convention to be held on January 18th till 20th at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. Chicago Cubs Tickets holders will be given an opportunity to score autographed memorabilia from star players from the 40-man roster and legends who put Chicago on top of the National League.

Players will be introduced on a red carpet ceremony that will provide special access to children under the age of 16. After the kickoff ceremony an autograph hunt game will be held and will conclude with “Cubs Bingo”.

A program called “Cubs Family Feud” will see veterans like Bobby Dernier, Jon Lieber, Garry Mathers and Billy Williams take on current Cubs Michael Bowden, Shawn Camp, Brett Jackson and Ian Stewart.

Fans will get a chance to meet the new off season acquisitions at a “Meet the New Cubs” session featuring pitchers Scott Baker, Edwin Jackson, Scott Feldman, outfielder Nate Schierholtz and catcher Dioner Navarro.Image

Families will be able to have a snack and popcorn during a screening of Hollywood blockbuster “Rookie of the Year”. This particular festival will allow kids to practice batting, play several types of ball games and participate at “Walgreens Field” as part of the Baseball Interactive Zone. Fans will also be given an opportunity to play the smash hit Playstation game MLB 2012.

Fans can test their arms speed and win various prizes in the Strike Zone. Longtime fans will be given an opportunity to work with team archivists to contribute their knowledge of the Cubs. Attendees will also be allowed to share their personal stories with a video crew which might be eligible for future advertisements and promotions.

Chicago Cubs certainly know how to look after their own. Here’s hoping they win a couple of games for their fans in the upcoming season.
